Following my stay in Washington I took advantage of a rare opportunity to spend one night near the airport in Baltimore. The only other time I spent a night at the airport it was because I had a frighteningly early flight the next morning. But the truth is, I’m often called upon to book hotels in the BWI corridor, so joining the Annapolis & Ann Arundel County Conference and Visitor’s Bureau for their one night FAM at BWI was a wise decision for me.
In just one day, or more precisely, two half days, I was able to visit all the full service hotels at the airport, plus a few special event venues. It’s not built quite like Crystal City where you experience one main drag with a dozen or so hotels. Hotels are more suburban oriented but the conference space is excellent, the shuttle service is consistent and reliable, and the community is close knit. We enjoyed a tradeshow over breakfast where we could meet with all the partners including transportation and entertainment providers, as well as members from the Annapolis hotel community who are represented by the same visitor’s bureau.
I thank the team from the CVB immensely for allowing me to experience first hand what my clients have been experiencing for years, tremendous convenience in the suburbs with the service and product levels they’re accustomed to in the city.
