Fairfax Embassy Row

I was very much looking forward to this stay in late November at a hotel not too far from the neighborhood I once called home, and at which a number of familiar former coworkers and long time associates worked.  I was greeted like I was entering my home after a terribly long delay on Amtrak coupled with perhaps the longest cab ride across town I’ve ever had the misfortune of taking.  That made me roughly an hour late for a lunch which was already late by most people’s standards.  Still, the hospitality of the team at the Fairfax shone through when they were surely ready for my arrival and that includes the chef who had prepared special appetizers for us.

The Fairfax Embassy Row is a beautifully elegant Luxury Collection hotel by Starwood, previously named the Westin Fairfax and the Park Fairfax.  It’s been a number of different hotels in the last half century including a Ritz-Carlton, but one thing has remained true – classic elegance.  Its location, right on Massachusetts Avenue west of Dupont Circle puts it at the footsteps of a myriad of Embassies and close walking distance to the metro, dining, and entertainment choices.  Very upscale and private, the hotel caters to small to medium sized groups.  This four diamond luxury property feels every bit as luxurious as this description, but their best asset is their ability to be competitive.  They often compete with three diamond properties on rate and as a result, they make customers happy.

I remain very happy with the personalized service I get from this hotel and will continue to be an advocate for them in the years to come.
