{"id":410,"date":"2011-10-17T14:35:54","date_gmt":"2011-10-17T14:35:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/blog\/?p=410"},"modified":"2011-10-17T14:35:54","modified_gmt":"2011-10-17T14:35:54","slug":"what-happens-in-vegas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/index.php\/2011\/10\/17\/what-happens-in-vegas\/","title":{"rendered":"What Happens in Vegas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-412\" title=\"las-vegas-welcome-clip-art\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/hl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/las-vegas-welcome-clip-art1-300x164.jpg\" \/>If I love DC and I\u2019m infatuated with New York, I find Las Vegas utterly irresistible.\u00a0 Too commonly, Las Vegas is associated with sin and sin alone, and while it\u2019s ignorant to say sin doesn\u2019t make a home in Las Vegas, sin can be found in just about any conference destination.\u00a0 Las Vegas made the unrecoverable mistake in its leisure marketing to remind people \u201cwhat happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,\u201d because the unavoidable affects it has had is to keep people \u201cstaying out\u201d of Vegas.\u00a0 And those who are staying out \u2013 are missing out.<!--more-->For those who are obsessed with hotels, Las Vegas offers a jaw dropping 24hr look at the most elaborate, grand hotel designs anywhere in the world.\u00a0 The sheer quantity of chef drive restaurants is mind staggering.\u00a0 Each hotel is bigger and more perfected than the one before it.\u00a0 The quantity and quality of entertainment acts is second to none.\u00a0 The amount of convention space one walkable street is a meeting planner\u2019s dream.<\/p>\n<p>I recently had an opportunity to stay at the Venetian Palazzo for the first time.\u00a0 In sum total, this hotel complex has more than 7,100 rooms \u2013 and all the rooms are suites.\u00a0 They also have more than 1 million square feet of meeting space.\u00a0 In just about any American city with the possible exception of Orlando, a group which sells out the Venetian Palazzo would be considered a citywide convention.\u00a0 And these hotels do sell out!\u00a0 Indeed hotels like this and many of its neighbors are cities unto themselves.\u00a0 I once sold a boutique hotel whose footprint could easily fit inside the prefunction space of one of this hotel\u2019s junior ballrooms!<\/p>\n<p>What impresses me the most is specific to the five star, five diamond element which exists in Las Vegas on an unrivaled scale.\u00a0 In many cities, pulling off a five star hotel isn\u2019t terribly uncommon, but they are often 100-200 room hotels.\u00a0 Accomplishing this kind of service level in hotels the size of Wynn, Encore, Aria, and Bellagio is an incredible feat. \u00a0How are they able to so brilliantly take care of so many people at once!<\/p>\n<p>These hotels are high functioning cities all on their own and conferences and governments who instruct their planners to avoid them are unAmerican.\u00a0 Given the caliber of service and the scale of the product, the values here are tremendous.\u00a0 What happens in Vegas shouldn\u2019t stay in Vegas \u2013 it should happen in every good convention city in the country \u2013 or we\u2019re all missing out!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If I love DC and I\u2019m infatuated with New York, I find Las Vegas utterly irresistible.\u00a0 Too commonly, Las Vegas is associated with sin and sin alone, and while it\u2019s ignorant to say sin doesn\u2019t make a home in Las Vegas, sin can be found in just about any conference destination.\u00a0 Las Vegas made the [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[2,1],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.3 -
