{"id":453,"date":"2011-12-12T02:31:08","date_gmt":"2011-12-12T02:31:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/blog\/?p=453"},"modified":"2011-12-12T02:31:08","modified_gmt":"2011-12-12T02:31:08","slug":"hilton-alexandria-mark-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/index.php\/2011\/12\/12\/hilton-alexandria-mark-center\/","title":{"rendered":"Hilton Alexandria Mark Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-454\" title=\"378003_10150527747777674_137517647673_11342081_1457967744_n\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/hl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/378003_10150527747777674_137517647673_11342081_1457967744_n-225x300.jpg\" \/>For my first journey back to our nation\u2019s capital after my move over Thanksgiving, I\u2019d be spending the better part of the week at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center.\u00a0 The Hilton is a famously iconic piece of architecture in the western part of Alexandria in a convenient corporate sector in town.\u00a0 The towering structure is clad in all glass and soars thirty stories into the air, taller than anything in the vicinity.\u00a0 I\u2019d been here several times for meetings but I was never fortunate enough to be a guest of the hotel.\u00a0 Until now.<!--more-->Checked into the hotel rather late at night but they\u2019d saved for me a handsome suite on the twenty-eighth floor.\u00a0 The suite had two entrances, both accessed by my keycard.\u00a0 The first room was a king sized bedroom with sleek, contemporary d\u00e9cor.\u00a0 And the second room adjoined to mind with French doors to a full size living room, the same size as my bedroom, with a small kitchenette complete with sink and refrigerator.\u00a0 There would be plenty of room for me to stick to my new \u201cInsanity\u201d fitness regimen indeed.\u00a0 And because of said regiment, I needed to be sure I\u2019d be well nourished in the morning.\u00a0 As a precautionary measure I dialed room service this evening to place my order for breakfast at 8am.\u00a0 They asked which thirty minute window I preferred and I asked for 7:45-8:15.<\/p>\n<p>Breakfast was promptly at my door at 7:45a, no joke.\u00a0 It was warm and exactly to my specifications.\u00a0 The room gave me ample space to dine and get the food out of my way for my workout.\u00a0 There was also plenty of room to set up comfortable office space and keep all of this away from my sleeping quarters.<\/p>\n<p>Over the course of my next three nights I got to appreciate the hotel\u2019s restaurant Finn &amp; Porter, where I\u2019d enjoy breakfast.\u00a0 Other values of interest for which I\u2019d take complete advantage were the self-parking facilities, which conveniently adjoin to their ballroom areas, and the shuttle service to the Pentagon City Metro which left every thirty minutes.\u00a0 I\u2019d also tour the impressive facility which is comprised of 581 guest rooms and more than 45,000sf of meeting space.\u00a0\u00a0 I had a group meeting in house this week as well and could periodically check on them from above.\u00a0 The Hilton has a handy atrium lobby overlooking their ballroom space so I could wave to my client sitting at her registration table from time to time.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t until my last day at the Mark Center that the rain subsided and revealed the majesty of the view from my room.\u00a0 Six miles from downtown DC but with no obstructions, I could see clear to the Washington Monument.\u00a0 It reminded me of home.\u00a0 Or was it the excellent service I was provided during my stay?<\/p>\n<p>My photos \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/#!\/media\/set\/?set=a.10150527746507674.450809.137517647673&amp;type=1\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/#!\/media\/set\/?set=a.10150527746507674.450809.137517647673&amp;type=1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the web &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www1.hilton.com\/en_US\/hi\/hotel\/DCAAHHF-Hilton-Alexandria-Mark-Center-Virginia\/index.do\">http:\/\/www1.hilton.com\/en_US\/hi\/hotel\/DCAAHHF-Hilton-Alexandria-Mark-Center-Virginia\/index.do<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For my first journey back to our nation\u2019s capital after my move over Thanksgiving, I\u2019d be spending the better part of the week at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center.\u00a0 The Hilton is a famously iconic piece of architecture in the western part of Alexandria in a convenient corporate sector in town.\u00a0 The towering structure is [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[2,1],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.3 -
