{"id":457,"date":"2011-12-19T14:34:58","date_gmt":"2011-12-19T14:34:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/blog\/?p=457"},"modified":"2011-12-19T14:34:58","modified_gmt":"2011-12-19T14:34:58","slug":"hilton-silver-spring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/index.php\/2011\/12\/19\/hilton-silver-spring\/","title":{"rendered":"Hilton Silver Spring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-458\" title=\"DSCN6430\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/hl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/DSCN6430-225x300.jpg\" \/>For my second stay in as many weeks in the metro Washington, DC market, I would coincidentally be staying at my second consecutive Hilton product.\u00a0 I had arranged for this stay because of my need for being in Silver Spring for an event of Wednesday evening.\u00a0 But I knew that this location would also be supremely convenient for any downtown appointments I\u2019d have since it is so proximate to the red line metro.<!--more-->It should be noted that the Hilton Silver Spring is in a period of flux right now.\u00a0 Depending on which floor the elevator stopped, you\u2019d either find yourself in the Hilton Silver Spring, the Doubletree Silver Spring, or, on some floors, the Hiltontree Silver Spring.\u00a0 I had never stayed at a property amidst a massive renovation and rebranding but I must say, the staff handled it quite well.\u00a0 As I checked in, the staff explained to me what I was witnessing and rather than get me concerned about its potential interruption to my stay, they conveyed their excitement for what was about to come.\u00a0 Nice job on training the front desk crew.<\/p>\n<p>The lobby was complete, or at least it was complete before I would check out.\u00a0 Going from a more traditional Hilton look, to a modern fresh and clean Doubletree look, the hotel is now even more built for business travelers.\u00a0 The lobby and the lobby bar and Capital Bleu restaurant are very open to one another, and the new d\u00e9cor inside Capital Bleu is quite appealing.\u00a0 A second restaurant, Sergio\u2019s, which has been around for almost 30 years, still exists for an authentic Italian flavor.\u00a0 Two full service restaurants at a hotel with just 263 guest rooms is quite impressive.<\/p>\n<p>The hotel also features more than 20,000sf of meeting space, comprising all of the second floor and some of the lobby level as well.\u00a0 Once again, more than enough space for a hotel of this size.\u00a0 Well equipped to handle a lot of the corporate and contractor business on the north side of the Capital Beltway.\u00a0 And because of its access to the metro and highway, it\u2019s exceedingly convenient for most.<\/p>\n<p>The renovated rooms have a sleek look to them and are well equipped for business travelers.\u00a0 I enjoyed a comfortable stay, a delicious pancake breakfast courtesy of an exceptionally prompt room service delivery, and easy valet parking.\u00a0 For a stay that\u2019s convenient to downtown Washington but not in downtown, I\u2019d surely consider this location and will be even more delighted to see the finished product at the end of January.<\/p>\n<p>My photos \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/#!\/media\/set\/?set=a.10150547172227674.453675.137517647673&amp;type=1\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/#!\/media\/set\/?set=a.10150547172227674.453675.137517647673&amp;type=1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the web &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www1.hilton.com\/en_US\/hi\/hotel\/DCASSHF-Hilton-Washington-DC-Silver-Spring-Maryland\/index.do?ctyhocn=DCASSHF\">http:\/\/www1.hilton.com\/en_US\/hi\/hotel\/DCASSHF-Hilton-Washington-DC-Silver-Spring-Maryland\/index.do?ctyhocn=DCASSHF<\/a> <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For my second stay in as many weeks in the metro Washington, DC market, I would coincidentally be staying at my second consecutive Hilton product.\u00a0 I had arranged for this stay because of my need for being in Silver Spring for an event of Wednesday evening.\u00a0 But I knew that this location would also be [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[2,1],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.3 -
