{"id":553,"date":"2012-05-07T18:19:47","date_gmt":"2012-05-07T18:19:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/blog\/?p=553"},"modified":"2012-05-07T18:19:47","modified_gmt":"2012-05-07T18:19:47","slug":"hotel-rouge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/index.php\/2012\/05\/07\/hotel-rouge\/","title":{"rendered":"Hotel Rouge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-554\" title=\"DSCN7455\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/hl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/DSCN7455-300x225.jpg\" \/>Sassy.\u00a0 Sexy.\u00a0 Red.\u00a0 All very appropriate words to use for the Hotel Rouge which sits on 16<sup>th<\/sup> Street on the north side of Scott Circle, across from the Australian Embassy.\u00a0 But don\u2019t let the scantily clad Venus statues our front fool you.\u00a0 And don\u2019t be misled by the glitzy red tile upon entry in the lobby.\u00a0 This hotel is a fantastic business hotel featuring some of the largest standard rooms in all of DC.\u00a0 Indeed my old offices used to be on the first floor of this boutique property.\u00a0 It was one of my favorites then and it remains one of my favorites now.<!--more-->Indeed I had challenges when booking this hotel because of some of the aforementioned accessories.\u00a0 But that\u2019s a short sighted mistake on the part of a meeting planner who fears the property\u2019s sultry design and attitude is anything more than decoration.\u00a0 Since a renovation last year, the Rouge offers even more tremendous value.\u00a0 Furnishings are luxurious and space is outstanding.\u00a0 As a former apartment building, these studio and one bedroom apartments make incredible living spaces for hotel rooms.\u00a0 And red isn\u2019t everywhere, it\u2019s merely an accent in the guest rooms.<\/p>\n<p>The hotel\u2019s lobby is intimate but inviting, as is the staff.\u00a0 Meeting rooms and public restroom are on the first floor along with a very swanky lounge.\u00a0 The lounge is a great choice for guests looking for the feel of an ultra lounge without the long lines, the cover charges, and the attitude.\u00a0 In fact Bar Rouge is not all that well known.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t have a very good street presence and since it\u2019s slightly off the beaten path from the mainstays of Dupont Circle and Logan Circle, there\u2019s hardly ever a crowd.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t mean they lack anything in creative drinks or fine service.<\/p>\n<p>The hotel is indeed convenient \u2013 just a short walk up Massachusetts Embassy Row to Dupont Circle, or a short walk down 16<sup>th<\/sup> or 15<sup>th<\/sup> Street to the White House or McPherson Square.\u00a0 The Rouge has become a favorite of travelers to the city as they know they\u2019ll receive the hands-on personalized service that comes with a 137 room hotel, and maybe they can take a picture or two with Venus while they\u2019re there!<\/p>\n<p>My photos \u2013<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/media\/set\/?set=a.10150945407247674.496898.137517647673&amp;type=1#!\/media\/set\/?set=a.10150945407247674.496898.137517647673&amp;type=1\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/media\/set\/?set=a.10150945407247674.496898.137517647673&amp;type=1#!\/media\/set\/?set=a.10150945407247674.496898.137517647673&amp;type=1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the web \u2013<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rougehotel.com\/\">http:\/\/www.rougehotel.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sassy.\u00a0 Sexy.\u00a0 Red.\u00a0 All very appropriate words to use for the Hotel Rouge which sits on 16th Street on the north side of Scott Circle, across from the Australian Embassy.\u00a0 But don\u2019t let the scantily clad Venus statues our front fool you.\u00a0 And don\u2019t be misled by the glitzy red tile upon entry in the [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[2,1],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.3 -
