{"id":634,"date":"2012-09-03T16:52:44","date_gmt":"2012-09-03T16:52:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/blog\/?p=634"},"modified":"2012-09-03T16:52:44","modified_gmt":"2012-09-03T16:52:44","slug":"westin-georgetown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/index.php\/2012\/09\/03\/westin-georgetown\/","title":{"rendered":"Westin Georgetown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-635\" title=\"DSCN8484\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/hl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/DSCN8484-225x300.jpg\" \/>This is a new name for a highly coveted, upscale, Washington, DC hotel.\u00a0 Formerly the Westin Grand, the Westin Georgetown sits on the excellent piece of real estate on the southeast corner of 24<sup>th<\/sup> and M Streets NW.\u00a0 This neighborhood is commonly referred to as the West End.\u00a0 Just between Georgetown and Dupont Circles, perhaps the most desirable and vibrant neighborhoods for shopping and dining, the West End enjoys a more quiet peace.\u00a0 Lined with law firms and expensive residences, there also exists a very fine sampling of upper upscale and luxury hotels, and the Westin Georgetown fits right in.<!--more-->Though not technically in Georgetown, the hotel exudes the Georgetown persona.\u00a0 It\u2019s crisp and clean, modern and trendy, and does everything in its branding to maintain its image.\u00a0 That includes completely reinventing its two on site restaurants which were not open for my stay but which will be open in early September.\u00a0\u00a0 One is a familiar name in Washington, the Caucus Room, only a more intimate and slightly less formal setting than its Capitol Hill sister restaurant.\u00a0 And also a new innovation called Boveda, a tapas restaurant with flavors from all over Latin America in a speak-easy type setting.\u00a0 The two power house dining establishments together are set to draw in the local crowd.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the dining, the Westin is highly welcoming.\u00a0 The fresh scent of white tea pevades the lobby and public spaces and its hard to not be drawn in by the ideas of the Heavenly Bed and Heavenly shower.\u00a0 My room faced the courtyard, perhaps even the more desirable of the views as it\u2019s extremely residential and quiet.\u00a0 I overlooked the outdoor pool, a rarity in Washington, but just the right size to give hard working guests the oasis they need early or late in the day.<\/p>\n<p>The rooms are contemporary and comfortable and the bathrooms are bright, spacious and exceptionally clean.\u00a0 Staff is on top of their game and I never had to wait terribly long for luggage or valet service.\u00a0 With competitions surrounding them, the likes of the Ritz-Carlton, the Park Hyatt and the Fairmont, the Westin is every bit the elite hotel and on some days even the most elite.<\/p>\n<p>WEB: \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.starwoodhotels.com\/westin\/property\/overview\/index.html?propertyID=1013\">http:\/\/www.starwoodhotels.com\/westin\/property\/overview\/index.html?propertyID=1013<\/a><\/p>\n<p>PHOTOS: \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/media\/set\/?set=a.10151203151182674.526849.137517647673&amp;type=1\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/media\/set\/?set=a.10151203151182674.526849.137517647673&amp;type=1<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a new name for a highly coveted, upscale, Washington, DC hotel.\u00a0 Formerly the Westin Grand, the Westin Georgetown sits on the excellent piece of real estate on the southeast corner of 24th and M Streets NW.\u00a0 This neighborhood is commonly referred to as the West End.\u00a0 Just between Georgetown and Dupont Circles, perhaps [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[2,1],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.3 -
