{"id":642,"date":"2012-09-17T16:49:56","date_gmt":"2012-09-17T16:49:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/blog\/?p=642"},"modified":"2012-09-17T16:49:56","modified_gmt":"2012-09-17T16:49:56","slug":"sgmp-north-carolina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/index.php\/2012\/09\/17\/sgmp-north-carolina\/","title":{"rendered":"SGMP North Carolina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-643\" title=\"ncsgmp\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/hotel-lobbyists.com\/hl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/ncsgmp.jpg\" \/>Last week I was fortunate enough to spend some time with the good people of the SGMP North Carolina chapter, based in the state capital, Raleigh.\u00a0 I was brought down to present on SGMP\u2019s value on Boss\u2019 Day, the day when SGMP members bring their supervisors to the meeting so that they can glean the association\u2019s value and possibly spread the word to others who are not yet members.\u00a0 The program was created by SGMP\u2019s interim executive director, Rob Bergeron with the intent that he himself would deliver it.\u00a0 However SGMP\u2019s scheduled headquarters move from the basement level to the second floor of 908 King Street would preclude his attendance.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->I was more than happy to deliver this presentation which highlighted SGMP\u2019s core values \u2013 education, resources and networking, all of which I\u2019ve received ten times over.\u00a0 The hospitality and attention shown me by this wonderful audience was most appreciated as was the hour I got to share my own special SGMP experiences.\u00a0 This chapter, of just under 70ppl had a room full of more than 40ppl.\u00a0 What an amazing show of attendance!\u00a0 In times like these, when government meetings are growing scarce due to irrationally intense scrutiny and handicapping regulations, there\u2019s no greater asset than being well educated.\u00a0 I applaud them for having me, I applaud SGMP for creating this presentation, and I look forward to the growth of the organization in this period of struggle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week I was fortunate enough to spend some time with the good people of the SGMP North Carolina chapter, based in the state capital, Raleigh.\u00a0 I was brought down to present on SGMP\u2019s value on Boss\u2019 Day, the day when SGMP members bring their supervisors to the meeting so that they can glean the [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[2,1],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.3 -
