I travel a lot. And I’ve seen some beautiful places. So it shouldn’t be taken lightly when I enter a new place into my top five most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. Of course, that list seems to be comprised of about ten places, and in no particular order they are Big Sur, the Grand Canyon, Machu Picchu, Lake Como, San Gimignano, Cinque Terre, and now Banff.
I had the privilege of attending Smart Meeting’s Destination Alberta trip where I got to spend a night in Calgary, a lovely Canadian city by the way, and then two nights inside Banff National Park, the gem of the Canadian Rockies. It would have been beautiful enough to be inside the Canadian Rockies, but staying at the Fairmont Banff Springs right near the town of Banff, in what would be classified as a stunning castle, surrounded by mountains, and the most picturesque backdrops I could have dreamed, was another thing altogether. A day trip up to the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, on unimaginably gorgeous Lake Louise with a crystal blue lake in the foreground and a shimmering glacier nestled between mountains was another oil painting to behold.
Top off this phenomenal bit of nature with some of the warmest, most hospitable people I’ve ever come across, and one finds himself having a most wonderful Albertan experience. I cannot wait to return with my own family and if they experience half the splendor I did, it will still knock their socks off for sure.
