Sheraton National

At the conclusion of my road trip and one night before my return to Long Island, I was most pleased to have the opportunity of staying just across the river from our nation’s capital, right near the Pentagon, at the Sheraton National Hotel.  The Sheraton has notoriously been a tough sell for a number of my customers because of the mistaken perception that its location lacks convenience.  On the contrary, despite not being adjacent to local shopping or dining, it’s one of the more convenient hotels in the metropolitan DC area. This hotel has an abundance of excellent meeting space and that’s the primary reason that it’s a reliable source of excellent proposals for me.  It combats the location issue by providing on site self parking as well as complimentary reliable shuttle service every half hour to the metro, to the Pentagon, and to the airport.  This is also one of the more government loyal properties and because of their abundance of meeting space, it’s also easier to book groups here which require more space or have a challenging rooms to space ratio.

I was treated to a wonderful upgrade, a one bedroom suite.  The incredible space which rivaled my former apartment in the city, also featured exceptional views of the capital.  The monuments and memorials lit in the distance were a warming feeling as I spent my last night in the area.

I also had the ability to enjoy breakfast in their restaurant in the morning.  Their full buffet was a treat for myself and my client with friendly service to accompany it.  I would return to this property for future stays as would I continue to endorse it for my clients with intense meeting needs normally shunned by downtown and smaller properties.
